Create a Cook, established in 2005, is a recreational cooking school for kids and adults. Offering workshops, classes, cooking parties and corporate team building programs. All skill levels are welcome. Classes and workshops follow a specific theme an students will bring home their creations to share.

In addition to the cooking series, camps and parties, the school also offers private, custom workshops for smaller groups. Contact the school to discuss more details about designing a custom 2-hour workshop for your family and friends.

Kids Cooking Series

There are three multi-week kids cooking series offered throughout the school year. The sessions are aligned with the Newton Public School calendar. Classes are held once per week for 1-2 hours, depending on the level, and generally incorporate both cooking and baking. Registration is based on the student’s age.

  • Students aged 6-9 years.  Drop off classes for students who are beginning to develop their skills. They will cut, chop, stir and mix. Class time is 90 minutes.
  • Students aged 9-11 years.  Additional kitchen skills are learned through more complex techniques such as searing, sauteing, and folding. Class time is 2 hours.
  • Students aged 11+ years.  Students learn about seasoning to taste, culinary terminology, and knife skills while working on more sophisticated menus. Class time is 2 hours.

Parent-Child Workshops

Designed for parents/caregivers to attend with children aged 3+, these workshops are offered during the weekends as well as during school vacation weeks. Check the online schedule for dates, times, menu themes and fees.

Birthday Parties

Birthday parties at Create a Cook are designed for children aged 4+ and can accommodate up to 12 attendees. The 90 minute cooking party is held in custom, kid-friendly kitchen classrooms. The booking includes experienced staff who provide instruction and assistance, a selected menu, cupcake decorating, all plates and utensils, an apron, and beverages. Staff handles all set up and clean up.

Party times are available on Saturdays and Sundays. Dates and times are often booked a couple months or more in advance so we recommend reserving your date as early as possible.

Vacation and Summer Camps

Create a Cook also offers school vacation and summer programs for kids aged 7 and older.
