Detailed Information

Children can book a community service-themed birthday party. Guests will help a local charity, develop empathy for those in need, and gain experience in teamwork, while having a lot of fun.

Sample Birthday Party Themes

Children will complete projects at a community center in Newton and other local charitable organizations. The daily schedule includes a fun service project, team building games, movement and play breaks, group lunch, and a wrap up to discuss additional ways to continue community service from home.

  • Birthday Wishes – Pack birthday bags, design and decorate cards and learn about children living in shelters.
  • Jared Boxes – Kids will decorate and fill boxes with toys, games and personal notes. The boxes are delivered to local hospitals to lift the spirits and provide support to young patients.
  • Random Acts of Kindness – Made kindness tool kits and set about distributing random acts of kindness in the community.

Other Opportunities

Service stars also runs a three-week summer program, vacation week programs, and weekend service events for children in grades 1-8 to get involved in hands-on community service projects.
