Detailed Information
InHome Jams provides music education for kids aged 3+ both in studio or at the clients’ home. The lessons and curriculum are designed based on a philosophy that kids have more fun learning an instrument when they play songs they like.
Curriculum
The song-is-the-lesson approach enables students to absorb musical skills and concepts through listening and playing classic and modern pop and rock songs. Students will learn technique, rhythm, melody, song form, ear training, and improvisation while playing hit songs.
In addition to instrumental instruction, students explore and discover Electronic Dance Music utilizing iPad music apps and keyboard controllers. Kids will gain insight into a world of beat making, production, and remixing.
Programs and Classes
- In Home Lessons are available for piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, drums, and vocals. Students can select 30, 60, or 90 minute weekly sessions.
- WeeMix lessons for the youngest students (3 years old) offers experiences in modern music-making with instrument jams and electronic beat making.
- KidzRock is designed to allow students aged 4-7 to sing, play and perform in a band. Kids will play drums, keyboards, and guitar, performing songs with lyrics written by the students.
- KidzBandz rock and roll program is available for students 8+. InHome Jams coordinates the development of each band based on musical interests, availability and skills level. Supported by a band coach, students will develop teamwork, trust, respect, songwriting, song form, memorization, improvisation, ear training, tempo, and groove.
- Music Production is a weekly 1 hour class for kids aged 10+. Students will learn how to create, arrange, mix, and master a song in InHome Jam’s state-of-the-art studio.
- Private Lessons are available for children aged 5 and older.
Instructors
The teaching staff is comprised of highly skilled and experienced musicians. Many of the IHJ instructors have earned degrees from the world’s leading schools and conservatories and who have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry.
