Credit: The New Art Center in Newton

Detailed Information

The New Art Center, a non-profit art education space, offers everyone, at all levels of ability, exceptional opportunities to make, exhibit, view, and discuss art. Child classes, summer programs, and vacation programs are designed for children aged 3-5 and grades Kindergarten through 6. There are also teen classes and programs for students in grades 7-12.

Classes are offered after school, weekends, and during school vacation breaks in February, April and throughout the summer.

Children’s Art Classes

Young artists explore a variety of techniques to learn the building blocks of art making taught by professional artists. Classes are offered in ceramics, painting and drawing, and more throughout the year.

Teen Art Classes & Programs

Teens receive extensive, in-depth lessons taught by professional artists. These classes are great for teens who are beginning to explore an interest in the arts as well as highly skilled students looking to build their portfolio. Each class offers opportunities to strengthen skills and learn new techniques during the semester.

Financial Assistance

Scholarships are available based on need and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
