Brookline Tennis Academy offers clinics, camps and private lessons during the spring and summer for kids (age 3 and up) and adults.
Clinics for juniors focus on building the primary skills, including etiquette and general tennis knowledge. Kids receive an introduction to basic tennis principles and work on refining all core strokes, including forehand, backhand, serve and volley.
Registration is based on age and skill level. The youngest kids and beginner youth start with red ball, progress to orange, to green dot, and then yellow.
The adult program offers individualized instruction in a supportive group setting that helps players refine their technique.
The Academy is currently run at the Roxbury Latin School, located in West Roxbury. There are 12 hard courts and parking is available. Access the tennis courts via Quail Street.
Brookline Tennis Academy is managed by Shelly Mars, an experienced tennis professional who has been organizing and running adult and junior programs since 1990.
