Detailed Information

Olympia Fencing Center offers week-long fencing camps during the summer for children aged 8-13 of all levels of experience. Kids learn correct stances, lunges and parries, rules, the electrical scoring system, bouting and round robin. Olympia makes learning fencing fun and enjoyable, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Campers are grouped by age and athletic level. All fencing equipment is provided. Kids only need to bring snacks, lunch and water.

Beginner and Intermediate

The beginner / intermediate programs are designed for children aged 8-13 with little or no fencing experience. The daily schedule will consist of fencing basics: stances, lunges and parries, rules, electrical scoring, bouting, and round-robin.

Each 5-day camp program is broken into two sessions per day. Campers may register for either the full day session or the half-day morning session. Currently, the beginner level camp is only offered at the Cambridge location.

The Advanced Summer Camp enrolls competitor level athletes. Training is focused on developing strength and speed as well as goal setting, mental and tactical preparation.

Coaches consist of world-class fencing masters and professional educators who are CORI and Safe Sport certified.

Facilities are air-conditioned and each include 15 electrical fencing strips.

Olympia Fencing Center also operates a facility in Cambridge.
