Detailed Information

The Greater Quincy Child Care Center enrolls children aged 8 weeks – 7 years. Quality staffing, parent participation and community involvement all play a part in making the Center a success. Quincy Child Care provides beautiful modern classrooms and equipment, a music & movement program and a state-of-the-art security system.

The Center fosters the development of the whole child, socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and creatively. The dynamic, stimulating environment enables growth across all developmental areas, while supporting the individual needs of each child. A full day, year round Kindergarten program is offered.

History

In 1984, Howard Johnson’s, an American chain of hotels, opened a daycare center to service the daycare needs of their employees and families in the community. In 1986, when Howard Johnson’s moved out of Quincy, a group of parent volunteers took over the operation and management of the center. The Center was renamed Greater Quincy Child Care Center. It continues to operate as a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors comprised of parent volunteers and the Center’s Executive Director.
