Detailed Information

Newton Community Education is a self-sustaining arm of Newton Public Schools. NCE offers programs for everyone, from toddlers to seniors. There are hundreds of classes available with new and recurring options throughout the year. Your kids can join educational programs after school, sports during school breaks, and hobby courses on the weekends, among many more!

There is a wide variety of summer classes. NCE also utilizes many different venues, most of which are held at local public schools. Check the website for the dates, times, locations and costs related to current courses offered. An example of the types of courses your kids can take include architecture, chess, creative arts, gaming, mathematics, 3D printing, photography, and performing arts. Summer sports programs include everything from basketball, baseball and dodgeball to lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and more.

Extended Hours and Schedule

Early morning and extended afternoon hours are available for an additional fee. Half-day and full-day programs are offered. Families may also register for separate morning and afternoon classes as well as the lunch period at a single location to create a full day schedule.

Refunds and Withdrawals

Withdrawals may qualify for a refund, less processing fees. After a specific date (prior to classes starting), there will be no refunds allowed. See the course catalog for specific details on final dates for cancellation and refund requests. Generally speaking, if a student starts after the first day of class, a full rate will be charged (no pro-rated fees). Call the registration office with any questions and to confirm policies.
