Check this one out - Project Community Giving. Founded and run by HS students. What a great way for these kids to support their community through mentoring younger kids and charitable giving. Bravo!

Newton-based. They offer tutoring in math, writing, English, public speaking, and programming, maybe others. AND...50% of all profits go towards supporting local area families struggling with food/hunger.

One Can Help supports children and families in the juvenile court system. They provide financial and other resources such as security deposit for rent, payments for utilities bill or cleaning supplies or career training classes.

this is in Boston not Newton. it's a great place supporting homeless and poor women in the community. we have helped out here in different ways mostly through donations over the years. they are currently accepting donations of sanitizing, masks and cleaning items. please consider reaching out to them if you are able to help in any small way.

Centre Street Food Pantry

The food pantry welcomes volunteers between age 16-69 and also younger volunteers aged 11-15 who are with an adult. Volunteers are needed as follows:

Distribution Days every Tuesday and the first Saturday of each month to help with outdoor set up, packing grocery bags, replenishing inventory for packing, and bringing bags to clients curbside
1 – 2 times each week to unload deliveries from the Greater Boston Food Bank
As Needed Basis to pack grocery bags in advance of distribution days
Occasional Special Projects may arise and generally may be completed at home

Project Driveway - Help Stop Food Insecurity

Project Driveway brings groceries to people facing hunger and food insecurity. They deliver groceries to people who can’t shop for themselves. To date, they have completed 360 deliveries worth $30,000 and built up a base of 50 volunteers!

You can help with fundraising that will be used to buy groceries that will be delivered to individuals who face food insecurity. Project Driveway spends around $35-50 per client. With initial fundraising goals set at $1,500, they project helping between 30-42 people.

Every donation, of any amount, helps the organization reach their fundraising goals! Please also tell your friends and family about Project Driveway and the opportunity to donate

Newton Senior Center

Volunteer for The Newton Senior Center.

Zoom Teachers: Remotely teach Seniors how to use and host calls and videos with Zoom. Weekdays or weekday evenings.

Meal Delivery: Deliver lunch to seniors on weekdays from 10:30am – 12:30p.

Grocery Shopping: Take care of grocery shopping for seniors. Dates and times are somewhat flexible.
